SetFocus Fast Track Training Webinar: What’s New in SQL Server 2012?  March 27th and 28th

When a software vendor releases a new version of a major product, it’s a big challenge to fully discover all the new features (especially some of the less-publicized ones).

Microsoft newest release of their flagship database product (SQL Server 2012) has a large number of new capabilities that will appeal to all sorts of SQL Server professionals: from OLTP developers to Data Warehouse professionals to Business Intelligence developers.  Assimilating all the functionality and trying to learn the full value of the product might mean reading several books, blogs, and magazine articles.   You might not have time for that.

Fortunately, there’s a much easier way.  SetFocus has developed a webinar that focuses exclusively on the new features in SQL Server 2012.   The webinar will be packed with numerous presentations, walkthroughs, and examples, to give you the information so that you won’t have to spend weeks or months researching.   SetFocus has been working with the early beta versions and technology previews of SQL Server 2012, and has synthesized all the new functionality into a two day webinar – so that you’ll be more productive the first day you start using SQL Server 2012.

The webinar will consist of two days, from 9am-5pm eastern time.  The first day will focus on the new database management engine features, column store indexes, new Transact-SQL language features, new geospatial features, and new functionality in SQL Server Integration Services.    The second day will focus on the new Analysis Services tabular model (and also compare it to the traditional SSAS/OLAP model), the new features in PowerPivot 2.0, the new Power View report authoring tool, and the changes in Reporting Services integration with SharePoint 2010.

The consistent theme throughout the webinar will be feature-packed and content-rich examples, intended to give you a fast track towards learning what SQL Server 2012 has to offer.

At the conclusion of the webinar, you will receive the following:  a link to download the video of the presentation (helpful in case you can’t attend), along with all the code samples and database samples.

All you’ll need as an attendee to watch the webinar is a desktop or laptop with a high speed connection,  and the ability to view Microsoft Live Meeting in 1200x800 video resolution.    More specific instructions to follow.

Note: while this is a very detailed webinar, it is not a training class with exercises or labs.  However, since you’ll receive an electronic downloadable copy of all examples, you might wind up modifying them for further experimentation.

The webinar will now be free of charge.

Please note the instructions for attending the webinar will be emailed to you one week prior to the event start date.  We will be using Live Meeting with audio enabled, please plan to attend from a computer with audio capability.
